The Bug Shed Taxidermy

The Bug Shed Taxidermy started in 2011, doing only European mount taxidermy using dermestid beetles.  Owned and operated by Jared Mitchell, who got his first beetle colony in 2007 to do a few mounts for friends and family, it turned in to much more than a hobby.  He attended Unity College, and while attaining wildlife degree, he ran the dermestid colony at the College.  In 2016, Jared attended the Advanced Taxidermy Training Center Of North West Montana to offer a full taxidermy shop.  Starting in the spring of 2016 The Bug Shed Taxidermy will no longer just offer skull cleaning services, but also preserve  birds, fish, life size mammals, game heads, rugging, habitat, etc...

We use competition techniques on each and every trophy, no matter what it may be.  Skull cleaning, we use only dermestid beetles, the best way to clean and preserve a trophy!

We were the first state licensed European Mount taxidermy business in the State of Maine!!
